Subject of the present dissertation are the results of the first point of measurement of a longitudinal research project studying changes in the distribution of behavioral/emotional problems over puberty. The aim is to investigate the role of maturational stage in the distribution of behavioral/emotional problems. It is described how the amount of problems and their patterning are distributed in an epidemiological sample of young adolescents in the larger Rotterdam area. Attention is paid to socicreconomic differences and (dis-)agreement between informants.
