This is a case about the partnership of Triple IT - a small web agency - with two large firms for the development and commercialization of a new technology that Triple IT developed. It first of all illustrates the benefits for small firms to innovate with other (larger) firms. Secondly, it shows how joint new product development projects can be organized and managed successfully. Thirdly, it outlines the challenge to select and decide upon a formal partnership to commercialize an innovation. Two parallel cases are presented in a separate section for students to compare how different organizational forms yield different performance.
