The study demonstrates the firstevidence of a significant association between the T/T148 genotype at the .-fibrinogen gene and carotid atherosclerosis. The results should be interpreted with caution, given the small number of T/T homozygotes. A larger cohort will ultimately be required to confirm whether or not this association is real.
