ERMeCC - Erasmus Research Centre for Media, Communication and Culture

ERMeCC is a research centre located within the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Centre was founded in the spring of 2008 by members of the Departments of Media and Communication and Arts and Culture Studies. Researchers at the Centre are dedicated to carrying out interdisciplinary research into media, communication and culture. The Centre's mission is to operate as an international, national and local centre of expertise for high-quality research.Our work is empirical, interdisciplinary and comparative, informed by various social science disciplines and historical understanding. It involves the study of the social meanings and impacts of communication, media and culture; of media and cultural policies; of the production, distribution, and reception of media and culture; and of the cultural, economic, technological, social, and political conditions associated with these processes.
