We thank Damen and colleagues for their interest in our review on antiplatelet therapy and the contemporary role of aspirin for secondary prevention in patients with coronary artery disease undergoing coronary stent implantation. We agree with their comments and appreciate they shared the “less is more” concept.
We also appreciate their suggestion not to forget previous evidence generated with vitamin k antagonist agents, which does potentially support the concept that oral anticoagulants may effectively replace an antiplatelet agent as long-term secondary prevention measure. [...]
