IAME members will no doubt remember the 6th World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR) in Lyon, France, that in 1992 provided the venue for the Association's founding meeting. The 7th WCTR took place in Sydney, Australio, in July 1995. The Conference was hosted by the University of New South Wales and, as on previous occasions, this major triennial event again managed to attract more than 1000 transport researchers from all over the world, despite the fact that Sydney was not just around the corner for most of them.
