Constipation is a common problem. Physicians have tried to improve the success of conventional laxative treatment by improving defaecation dynamics using biofeedback training. Recently, a large, randomised controlled study showed no higher success rates in additional biofeedback training, compared to conventional terapy. Achievement of normal defeacation dynamics was not associated with success.
