We thank Dr Wee for his interest in our recently published article. Dr Wee indicated some ambiguities and provided recommendations regarding the methodology and outcomes of our study. We would like to address these issues.
First, with regard to the statistical methods used, cumulative data were used to derive percentages of detected stoma site incisional hernias (SSIHs) and the associated median follow-up periods were derived by calculating the median and interquartile range of the available information on reported median study followup since closure (as given in Table 4).
