A 16-year-old girl was referred to the dermatology outpatient clinic with PIP-joint swelling of the fingers. Dermatological examination and histology confirmed the diagnosis of pachydermodactyly (PDD). PDD is a rare benign form of juvenile digital fibromatosis with asymptomatic swelling of the PIP joints of the fingers. PDD can be misdiagnosed as inflammatory arthritis. Because of its benign nature most patients do not need treatment.
