Telomeropathy as cause of bone marrow failure in adults

Telomere biology disorder causes accelerated telomere attrition as a result of a gene mutation in children and adults. The clinician should think of a telomere biology disorder in bone marrow failure combined with lung fibrosis, lever cirrhosis, premature grey hairs, aplastic anemia, acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome or solid tumors in patients and/or family.
