This book covers the developments on the Dutch art market during the German occupation, 1940-1945. It details the development of prices and volume, the buyers and their reasons for buying art, the sources of the artworks that were sold, the German anti-Jewish measures and how these affected the art market, government policy (by the German Aufsichtsverwaltung, the Dutch accommodating civil service, the Dutch collaborating civil service, and the Dutch government-in-exile), and developments in the immediate post-war era.
