The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether insulin resistance, inflammation and oxidative stress increase CV risk and affect survival in high-risk populations.
To addressthis question, epidemiologic and genetic studies were carried out in obese individuals, elderly and patients with chronic kidney disease of various severity, who represent three populations with high CV risk.
