Exploring the durability of community businesses in England

This research study looks to understand which conditions matter for a community business and how they work together to enhance durability. The research moves beyond identifying single success factors to reveal how combinations of conditions affect durability. Through a literature review, 33 semi-structured interviews with community business representatives and comparative analysis techniques, the authors identify not only which conditions are necessary for durability, but also which combinations of conditions can be sufficient to create durable community businesses.
