This case describes the evolution of the Colombian non-profit foundation “Fundación llena una botella de amor” – Botellas de Amor (fill up a bottle with love), from its beginnings to its current situation (2021-2022). It discusses the role of different actors and explains the process used from the collection of plastics to the construction of furniture and houses. The case study provides the opportunity to analyse the main features of frugal innovation as well as to have a discussion about the role and occurrence of cross-sectoral collaborations in frugal innovation.
