Behandeling van coronaire arteriosclerose met behulp van volledig biooplosbaar scaff olds
Coronary artery disease is the top cause mortality. Moreover, its incidence is still increasing worldwide. Before late 1970’s, the management of coronary heart disease was left to medical treatment and few severe cases underwent coronary artery by-pass graft (CABG). However, a large number of patients remained with symptoms despite optimal medical treatment and/ or CABG. The advent of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has become an essential treatment option for coronary artery disease. PCI is now widely accepted across the globe.
