This study was designed to gain more knowledge about the role of the AC/cyclic AMP second messenger system in the reduction of IOP, particularly in response to adrenergic agents. The principle approach was to augment pharmacologically the AC/cAMP signals of adrenergic agonists in vivo by combination with the phosphodiesterase inhibitor IBMX.
