Phospholipids coated microbubbles exposed to (US) are known to deflate, with possible impact on results of diagnostic imaging applications. This paper on an acousto-optic study of the behaviour of single exposed to pulsed low-pressure excitation over long time intervals, during which the bubbles ultrasound-induced deflation. The set-up provides and echo information that is combined to show effects, and second harmonic responses as a function diameter.
