The possibility of applying photoacoustic (PA) signal generation to monitor the changes in the blood circulation was examined. The blood vessel position was tracked with one-dimensional scans and the changes in the signal due to the artificially induced changes in the blood circulation was detected for the investigation. Experimental results were obtained by applying the PA technique on animals and found that the technique could be used for monitoring the changes in the blood concentration.
