Abstract

Dental students are facing many stressors in dental education, causing many negative outcomes. The most common are the exams and the clinical requirements. We suggest exposing the dental students to patient care as early as possible in their curriculum. This can help to balance stress across the different years of the curriculum, and maybe reduce the stress levels in the later years of the curriculum.

A study into the new Dental Education Stress Management (DESM) program showed positive results.
