Circulating tumor and endothelial cells
Celgebaseerde meting van kanker : circulerende tumor- en endotheelcellen
This thesis aimed to optimize the predictive and prognostic information that can be obtained from Circulating Tumor cells (CTC) and Circulating Endothelial Cells (CEC) in whole blood by improving and standardization of their detection and characterization methods in patients with solid malignancies. Both CTC and CEC are promising biomarkers for research purpose and patient management, that can be easily obtained by a non-invasive blood sampling (i.e. liquid biopsy) on multiple time points.
