Voter-information websites, in particular online voting indicators, have proliferated in European and other OECD countries. This chapter distinguishes three types of voter-information websites that support voters in prospective and retrospective voting. These types are discussed in the light of a typical case.
Some empirical research is discussed on their actual use. On the individual level, voter information websites might have a modest effect on turnout. On the system level, these websites might put the classical liberal model of representation under (further) pressure and enhance a producer-consumer type of linkage.
