Summer ulceration is a livedoid vasculopathy, caused by occlusion of the cutaneous microcirculation. It can be classified as either as primary or secondary to several conditions like endothelial injury, changes in blood flow, states related to thrombophilia and a mixed etiology. A variety of treatments, including anticoagulants, are used to treat this vascular disorder.
