De genetica van familiaire psychiatrische stoornissen: inzicht in genen en mechanismen
The concept that psychiatric disorders are heritable is broadly accepted in the field of psychiatry. It has been show that the best indicator for increased disease risk is the genetic distance to an affected relative.
In this work we describe genetic studies investigating adult psychiatric as well as neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition, we have studied both nonsyndromic as well syndromic patients with mental illness.
