The aim of this thesis is to evaluate conventional and novel biomarkers on their performance to assess graft quality and predict outcome in LT.

The rising incidence of severe complications like NAS, which is strongly related to DCD, urges for predictive biomarkers in an earlier phase of LT. For example during graft preservation and by identifying recipients or donors with an increased risk for complications.
