Lipschötz ulcer, also called acute genital ulcers or ulcus vulvae acutum, is a rare disease that presents mostly as a single episode of acute genital ulcers with systemic symptoms in young, immunocompetent non-sexually active females. There may be an association with acute viral infections such as Epstein Barr virus. Diagnosis is by exclusion of other causes of genital ulcers. Supportive management is supplemented by (topical) corticosteroids and adequate pain relief.
