A seventy one year old patient was referred for epicutaneous patch tests because of post prandial swelling of the hands, feet and neck. The patient had a new gold containing dental prosthesis. She was found to have an allergy for gold, with clinical symptoms of both a contact allergic eczema as well as a systemic contact allergic reaction.
